Missouri: Gateway to the West

Jack Stack BBQ, Kansas City

When traveling to Missouri on our roadtrip from Oklahoma to North Dakota, there was one important thing we wanted to experience and that was Kansas City BBQ. Now, sadly, we didn't have time to explore much beyond Kansas City, so someday I will have to go back to see more of the state. I asked a coworker for a recommendation on where to go to get BBQ in Kansas City, MO (I make the distinction because we also went to Kansas City, KS and we got BBQ there as well.). My coworker recommended Jack Stack BBQ, so we headed there. We got the pulled pork mac and cheese, some burnt ends, and the cheesy corn bake. All the food was so good! I need more KC BBQ in my life, I miss it.

Another stop in Kansas City, MO, that we went to was the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum which was such a great museum, I learned so much. The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum celebrates the rich history and contributions of African American baseball players, preserving their legacy for future generations. I would definitely recommend this if you are in KC. Also, right next to it is the American Jazz Museum. The American Jazz Museum showcases the vibrant history and evolution of jazz music, celebrating the genre's legendary performers and its profound cultural impact. You can learn so much all in this one spot!
